Good Things:
Good food, good adventures, good weather, and even with the attitudes present by many of the guests (I call it “Toxic YOLO”) I had the same magical time I always have. <3
Meh Things:
On my last day at WDW (yesterday) I felt a twinge in my knee. And then my knee started to feel very thick and soft and unstable, as if my knee was replaced with a marshmallow. There wasn’t a lot of pain but it became more and more difficult to walk. Unfortunately, all I did yesterday was walk from the park to the bus, from the bus to the hotel, from the hotel to the airport shuttle, to the gate, etc etc etc. I’ve had literal nightmares about incidents like that, but it’s good to know that even nightmares are manageable.
Today I hobbled to my doctor. She asked what my pain level was on a scale of 1-10 and … how do you answer that when you’ve never birthed a child or passed a kidney stone? I said it was a 2-3, just achy really. She prescribed rest, ice, compression, and elevation, along with a topical cream that the insurance company rejected because they didn’t like the “as needed” as part of dosage. I should be better in a few days. If not, we’ll get some X-rays scheduled.
Between that and the hot flashes that have been starting, I feel so old and sad today. I’ve been walking daily, I’ve been practicing yoga very regularly again all with the goal of being WELL and here I am. I’m back to work (from home) tomorrow and I’m hoping that will keep me from ruminating.
But all of that aside, it was a very, very, VERY good week. I’m just not fond of this souvenir.
