Happy Friday, which is also National Hairball Awareness Day, National Blueberry Pie Day, and Arbor Day! For some nonbloggable reasons, these last 2 weeks have been A LOT and I’m hoping to take this rainy weekend as a sign to stay inside and calm the heck down. Seriously, Kim. Calm down.
We lost Len Goodman, Harry Belafonte, and Jerry Springer this week. One of those losses made me cry. Which one? Answer at the bottom.
It’s Friday 5 day! This week’s theme is You come back to the North Shore – which was a movie in the late 80s, I think?
- What is the brightest article of clothing in your wardrobe?
I have an amazing pair of bright orange wide-legged pants that I wear to work from time to time. - When did you last attend a live musical performance?
WM and I went to see Postmodern Jukebox in August of 2019, but if you loosen the definition of live musical performance a little bit to “musical” Mom and I saw Beautiful, the Carole King Musical in February of 2022. Next up is the Celtic Fling in June. (it’s so so so good to be back to seeing things in person…I will never, never forget these past few years) - When were you last in a bar, and what did you consume?
WM and I went to PJ’s for wings last Friday and I had an IPA named Stacy’s Mom. I’m kimberussell on Untappd, in case you’re into that kind of thing. - When did you last bleed from a bodily injury?
I nicked my ankle while shaving my legs last week, which is unremarkable yet still embarrassing that after all of these years of this, I still nick myself. - Who’s waiting far away for you to come and visit?
I hope my Seattle friends haven’t forgotten how cool we are in person. We haven’t been there since 2018. We were going to go in 2019 but had some house and dog expenses and cancelled, a decision I regret to this day. Maybe next summer?
I cried over Jerry Springer. I was never a fan of his show but it was a cultural touchpoint of an era that’s quickly fading away. How are the 90s both 30 years ago and just yesterday?
