Friday 5: The other shoe

It’s time for the Friday 5! This week’s theme is The other shoe.

  1. When did you most recently drop something off with someone?
Mom wasn’t feeling so hot last week (one of the 12 non-Covid viruses running rampant) so I dropped off some ginger ale and other similar supplies. She bounced back in a few days.
  2. Who is drop-dead gorgeous?
Zendaya. Oscar Isaac. No further questions.
  3. On what are you waiting for a price drop?
Halloween village houses. This is more “we” than “me” but we’re going to start collecting Halloween village pieces. We (ok, WM) are very, VERY into our yearly Christmas village so this should be a nice way to extend that joy out further. Back on topic, buildings for holiday villages retail for a lot of money. Instead, we buy our buildings and accessories from eBay at a much reduced price from people who are downsizing or more likely selling off their deceased parents’ villages. You can get a house for 10-15% of what they sold for.
  4. What were the circumstances when you once dropped the ball?
I have to choose one? Last week I arranged a committee meeting. The committee members are volunteers and it took a long time to get everyone situated and choose a time that worked for all. And then I had to bail from my own meeting because of a conflict. Luckily, someone else was able to run it but I felt terrible for paying more attention to the meeting itself and not to my own obligations.
  5. What news recently made your jaw drop?
Without going too far into it, I am on the Pedro Pascal fancam side of TikTok and…yeah. Whoof.
Pedro Pascal as Agent Whisky. He is wearing a suit and a cowboy hat.
How dare they put images like this in my head. I don’t even like cowboys!

Have a lovely weekend

The dumbest part of The Mandalorian is a whole series built around not seeing his beautiful face.

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)
