This beat cha-ching like money

It should come as no surprise to ANYBODY who has known me for even the slightest bit that I love me some boy bands. Always have, always will.

If you haven’t heard of BTS before, they are a K-Pop band who has been breaking all sorts of records. While your typical boy band has 4 to 5 members, BTS has 7. And even with 7 members, their choreography is tight.

Dynamite is their first song recorded fully in English and let me tell you, the lyrics are the most poppy, sugar-coated lyrics you’ve heard in years. This song is could easily be the end result of someone feeding 5 decades of boy and girl band lyrics into an Artificial Intelligence program and let the AI program take a whack at writing a pop song. Look at this!

Shoes on, get up in the morn’
Cup of milk, let’s rock and roll
King Kong, kick the drum
Rolling on like a Rolling Stone
Sing song when I’m walking home
Jump up to the top, LeBron
Ding-dong, call me on my phone
Ice tea and a game of ping pong

BTS, Dynamite

Hearing these lyrics is like shotgunning Mrs. Butterworth’s. And I love it. I’m here for it. I feel like if 1/4 of the USA wasn’t literally on fire when the song charted, it would have been #1 for more than two weeks.

I listen to it a least once a day. It’s good for my scared, pandemic soul.

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
