In the spirit of Throwback Thursday, I’ve been digging through my memory box – a literal box – of things I’ve accumulated on my journey from miss to ma’am.
I have a lot of Disney merchandise hanging around. From the mirror above yesterday’s shamrock bear to the bag I carry every day, I’m pretty well saturated with a corporate logo. It’s a little crazy, but it makes me a better person because I can’t throw shade at an adult wearing a Hufflepuff House scarf when I have cartoons on my purse.
But here’s the FIRST ever Walt Disney World souvenir I ever owned. It’s a Minnie Mouse pin purchased from the gift shop at a Days Inn in Florida. I think it was in Kissimmee. I was six years old and this thirty-odd year old pin is worth its weight in gold.
I also remember scoring a stuffed Minnie Mouse. On the way home, the stuffed Minnie had to go through the airport bag scanner. I was told it was to make sure nobody hid a gun in it. That gave me nightmare fodder for months.

Ann still has her Mickey Mouse multiplication slide ruler. I’ll post it on Facebook if I happen to come across it 🙂
