A lady looks at 40

I had half of my brows ripped off of my face last night so of course I had to take the pic with glasses on to hide the throb.
I started this blog when I was 30.

Today I turn 40. (zomg!)

Forty laughs harder than thirty. Forty is rounder than thirty. Forty is so very much wiser than thirty. And forty is happier than thirty.

Today my coworkers are taking me out to lunch. Tonight I meet Mom for coffee. Tomorrow night WM and I go out, just the two of us. On Friday, it’s dinner with WM, Mom, John & Kristen. This weekend, I’m back in my elastic-waist pants. ๐Ÿ™‚

This hereby ends the sequence of crazy life-bending events of 2012: new job, new apartment, wedding, and turning 40.

Whew. Forty is more tired than thirty, too. ๐Ÿ˜‰

***

Yes I am a pirate, two hundred years too late
The cannons don’t thunder, there’s nothin to plunder
I’m an over-forty victim of fate
Arriving too late, arriving too late

Well, you finally made it to the party! I’ve been here 3 years and I can tell you it’s all a state of mind. I try not to think I’ll be 44 in February which is why I’m riding a 30-mile bike tour of L.A. a week after my birthday. Nuts to you, 44!

Anyhow, a very Happy Birthday to you! It sounds like you have a great rest-of-the-week planned so enjoy it to its fullest ๐Ÿ™‚

Welcome to the club. I’ve been hanging out here for half your life, and the good news is, it GETS BETTER! Yup, it really does. ๐Ÿ™‚

(I read on the Internets that 60 is the new 40, so I’m buying that hook, line, and sinker.)

    Happy Birthday!

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

the wombsday clock graphic with two teal haired women in white rockers. It has reached 12 months and there are teal and white stars all over the graphic.
Well, that happened.
