Imagine you’re doctor with a smallish family practice. You sign up for a seminar. When you arrive, you see that at that seminar, there are CEOs of hospitals, doctors with chain practices, some cutting-edge biologists and a few brain surgeons thrown in for good measure. You are by far the smallest and most inconsequential person there.
That, friends, is me. But the good news is that the challenges I face in my little piddly job are the same challenges the other face in their much-more-powerful ones. And there are going to be some really neat ideas coming from this seminar. Ideas that I can take back to my paper (and maybe the other 6 Gannett NJ ones) and implement.
The Hyatt here is in the middle of a really neat (albeit manufactured) downtown shopping district. Lots of stores and places to eat. Tonight I and a group from a rival paper company (I didn’t say anything confidential, I promise, Powers-that-Be.) ate at Big Bowl, a Chinese restaurant. It was warm enough that we could comfortably eat outside. It has the best wireless connection of the three hotels I’ve been in this month. And the bed looks promising. Kronk the bear is already enjoying it.
And this is me, blogging tonight. Objects in mirror are smaller than they appear.
