Assault and (cookie) Batter

Did you KNOW a large Mrs. Fields Chocolate Chip Cookie is 280 calories?? That’s more than a Boston Kreme Donut! I found that out today, the hard way. Here’s how today added up:

Breakfast: Strawberry-Kiwi light yogurt (90 cal), 2 prunes (approx 20 cal), 20 oz water
Mid-morning snack: Sugar Free Jello (10 cal), more water

Here is where things turn Paris Hilton ugly.

Even though tonight’s party and the baby shower (which was to be Thursday, thank goodness) were postponed, I decided to shop at lunch anyway. I hopped in the car and headed to Target. I was hungry on the way, so I decided to hit the Drive Home snack (Ritz Bits, 170 cal) then and there.

I shopped at Target. Then, I zipped across the street to the mall to pick up a Quiznos sandwich at the food court for lunch. Sandwich clutched in my hand, all should have been well. Except for the Mrs. Fields booth.

Do you remember the cartoons years ago where a scent could waft across the room, grab a character by his nose and carry him through the air toward the food? Nah. Not me. The scent of the cookies took a blackjack to the back of my head. When I came to, I was clutching not one bag, but TWO bags of the day-old cookies. The sales guy was nice enough to give me a free bag. Thanks, mister.

Back to the car. On the drive back to work I snacked on two small cookies (60 cals each = 120 cals) and a big chocolate chip cookie (280 cals!!!). Once back at the paper, I left the two bags outside of my office on the conference room table. Cookies! Free for the taking! Please??? I ate the Quiznos sandwich (Small Sierra Smoked Turkey on Roll, 350 cal)

I had one more small cookie (60 cals) and Coworker Damon (not to be confused with the MILLIONS of other Damons out there) took the bags home.

All of that left me with 100 calories for dinner. Which ended up being a cup of shrimp (60 cal), 5 broccoli florets (25 cal) , a sprinkling of parmesan cheese (20 cal) and a slice of Provolone cheese (100) because I figured it was better for me than printer paper, which was looking pretty darn tasty.

1305 for the day. I did take Max for a rousing walk and tacked on a half block extra.

In the midst of all of this hullaballoo, I found a great site called Hungry Girl. It bills itself as having “Tips and Tricks for Hungry Chicks.” It’s well designed, entertaining to read, and probably works for Hungry Guys too.

Mañana, we work on a nuevo project that MUST go up on Wednesday. All we have as of 5pm today is…a logo. ¡Aye carumba! Truth be told, I’m DYING to get my hands on it. But I have to train people from 9-9:30am, train people from10:30am onward, and do my weekly numbers. (Not to be confused with the MONTHLY numbers, which finished up today.) So chances are this nuevo site will go live without me touching it at all. Overseeing ain’t no fun, señors.

DMB tickets go on sale April 2. I’m also in the market for a digital camera. (Why?) I’d like a 3 megapixel minimum, but in a relatively light camera. Any suggestions?

Hey, I noticed you’re on the weight loss train like myself. You should check out Dotties weight loss zone at http://www.dwlz.com for all sorts of cool info. I also mentioned your blog on mine as a good example. Good luck!

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
