Say Goodbye

Dear Dave Matthews Band,

Wow. I’ve been your willing audio slave for over 4 years now. Imagine that! We’ve been through 4 concerts and countless new CDs. You release a CD every few months now — most of them live shows in places way cooler than Camden, NJ. And that’s great.

But lately…I dunno…I’m starting to feel a bit used. Like you take it forgranted that I’m going to buy every live CD that you do. I got the “Red Rocks” one for Christmas. And it was fantastic (esp “Hunger for the Great Light” — you know how I feel about that one). But it seemed comfortable…too comfortable.

Anyway, what I’m trying to say is that I think I want to start seeing other bands. I…um….met some Barenaked Ladies music over the last few weeks. And I had a fun time listening to them. They’re pretty cool, and I hear they do great live shows too.

But I still want to be friends and even see you regularly. Just not exclusively. I hope you’ll understand.

Merry Christmas!

O Holy Night
The stars are brightly shining
It is the night of our dear Savior’s birth
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Till he appeared
And the soul felt it’s worth
The thrill of hope
The weary world rejoices
For yonder brinks a new and glorious morn
Fall on your knees
O hear the angel voices
O night divine
O night when Christ was born
O night divine
O night, o night divine
