October 10, 2003 – morning

Wow. I didn’t blog yesterday. Pity I didn’t, since yesterday I:

  • Lost 15 lbs
  • Woke up looking like Catherine Zeta-Jones
  • Wrote a novel
  • …and trained Max to clean the litterboxes!

But, friends, that was yesterday, this is today, and it appears I’m the same person that I was on Wednesday.

Miscellany
Misty-meow’s sick. Her right eye is all goopy and she’s keeping it shut. There’s also an occasional sneeze. David will be taking her to the vet at 9:30am.

The cats hate Max. As I mentioned, baby gate is down all day now, and Max has free run. My gentle meows become these little pneumatic hissing and clawing machines when he approaches. He fears them. Great family dynamic I have going. Max ate the bows off of my beige shoes on Tuesday. My fault…they weren’t where they should have been. And now, I need to buy new beige shoes! DARN it all!! (evil smirk)

I COOKED dinner on Wednesday. As in, took meat and fresh ingredients from fridge, combined them with spices and heat and made a meal that did not come from a bag or box. I even mushed flour tortillas into a small corningware bowl and baked them on low heat for 20 minutes or so to get a cripsy taco salad shell! And made my own (liquidy) salsa. I called the meal: SenoraGypsy’s Chicken Taco Salads!

And last night that Martha Stewart came into my apartment and said, “Get off of your @$$ and clean your bedroom!” Um…yes ma’am! She was MAD!

Wt: 14(mumble)
Mood: Happy
Work Docket: Hot Properties (3 out of 4 ads converted…); mini-meeting about next week’s special section; Looks like we have a Halloween special section today; probably more millionaire updates
Afternoon: Cleaning my bedroom as per Martha Stewart’s demand.
Evening: Probably just hang around the apartment. Vacation is in 8 days, so we’re not going to be spending money.
Saturday: Going to Ocean City w/Mom for the Fall Block Party. Leaving spouse at home with his beloved college football. He may not even realize I’ve gone. 🙂 Hopeslayer quest at midnight on Saturday. I’ll probably take Muireann the Neglected archer along…10million xps!
Sunday: Possible dinner @ Damon’s house (Damon my coworker, not to be confused with the 10s of millions of Damons there are in this country alone)

And now, the Friday Five!

1. Do you watch sports? If so, which ones?
I’ll watch hockey and baseball on TV. I attend Wings indoor lacrosse games during the winter.

2. What/who are your favorite sports teams and/or favorite athletes?
Hockey: New Jersey Devils. Baseball: Philadelphia Phillies. Indoor Lacrosse: Philadelphia Wings

3. Are there any sports you hate?
I do not give a whit about basketball and football. Those sports bore me to the point of tears. I do enjoy, however, when the Philadelphia Eagles lose, since the coverage is always so bitter and juicy!

4. Have you ever been to a sports event?
I’m extremely fortunate enough to live 15 minutes away from Philadelphia. I’ve been attending Phillies games since I was a tot. I’ve been to two Sixers games, a bunch of New Jersey Devil games (yes, two hours away) and almost every Wings lacrosse home game played during the last 3 seasons. I have a Wings jersey, and have been known to wear David’s Devils Jersey.

5. Do/did you play any sports (in school or other)? How long did you play?
I played softball (the non-pressure township recreation kind) in elementary school, and bowled in junior high and high school. Go ahead…laugh at the bowling, but I had a varsity letter jacket — the same fuzzy letter as the football players had. Do you? 🙂

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
