Valentine’s Day cards 2024

three homemade valentine's day cards. They are embossed, lightly inked with pink ink over the embossing, and have a red heart in the middle

I bought a LOT of craft supplies during the thickest part of the COVID pandemic, and because I was sad (pandemic) I barely used any of it. So other than cardstock, tape, and glue, this year I want to use…

Valentine card haul 2023

a layout of received valentine cards

I like receiving mail and it turns out I like sending mail as well. It’s one of the least expensive ways to brighten someone’s day, and you can be creative as you want. I’m a member of the MetaFilter online…

2023 Valentine cards

three valentine cards: each one has a front made of torn pages from old books, and leftover cardstock

For a few reasons I hadn’t felt much like crafting for months. I bought the cutest Halloween dies, colored and cut a bunch of bats which ended up tucked away in an envelope for next year. I bought even cuter…

Ow.

I have a love/hate relationship with Valentine’s Day. I know it’s a celebration of love, in all of its sickness and glory. But more often than not, it falls during the workweek and is therefore pretty uneventful for working folk….

Valentine’s Day disappointment

Another VDay come and gone. And it was pretty darn uneventful. We didn’t make any plans, so we ended up staying in. Cards exchanged, some Dark Age of Camelot played. Chinese Takeout for dinner. Thor fell asleep at 9ish, and…

February 13, 2003 – noon

I just got roses and candy from David! A day early…I wonder if he intended that? (I’m all sorts of hearts, flowers and rainbows now…)

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
