Farewell 2017, ya filthy animal

I very, VERY easily could rip into this absolute dumpster-fire of a year. Not only a year, but a "season" that started in November of 2015 and has kept on giving. But no, no. Good things happened this year, and I'm going to celebrate them. I went to the Womens March in January, which gave me the confidence to write, call, and fax my representatives. I'm on the fence about going to the one next month, and I can't put my finger on why. I met Joey McIntyre from NKOTB. He was dreamy. WM ...

Should auld acquaintance be forgot

This year..I received my first Rising Star award at work. (Oh, I'm receiving one for 2004 too!)We were approved for a mortgage. And after 7 years of apartment living, we bought a house!...which I almost burned down while making iced tea.Travelled to California to meet long-time friends.Saw the sun set over the 'other' ocean.Turned 32, (stupidly) had bangs cut into my hair, and got the long-coveted iPod.We went on a fabulous cruise......and I snorkled for the first time.Said goodbye to my last ...

New Year’s Eve 2003

Yesterday was a slight improvement -- was here only until 3:30. See, I'm a firm believer in an 8 hour workday. I'll bust my arse to get it all done by quitting time. That's why I get grumpy if I'm here late. The grumpies came home w/me yesterday and I was grumpy to Mom on the phone. :( I basically sat on my duff and let seven hours of VH1's "I love the 70s" play in the background. 1978 was just starting when I went to bed.You know, even though I came of age in the 80s, I think I really am a ...

New Year’s Eve

I ache from working out last night. Very sleepy too. I don't know how I'll hang in until after midnight. If I don't take a lunch, I can leave at 1:00 and nap until 5:00. I think I'll try out the new hot rollers Mom gave me for Christmas. At worst I'll look like Harpo Marx. ;) ...

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)
