Wordless Wednesday 2025: Week 2

Murphy, freshly groomed. He's in the passenger side of my own damn ride trying to holler at me. He belongs in the back seat and I need to clean my windows

Friday 5 on a Saturday: On Deck

the usual Friday January 3 calendar page graphic, but with saturday jan 4 scribbled in

Happy Saturday, which is also National Spaghetti Day (every day is spaghetti day in my book) and National Trivia Day (I approve!) and also it’s cold January day with a snowstorm possibly on the horizon for Monday. Back in the…

Fifty-two Wednesdays in 2024, with words

a cropped version of the larger 52 image collage in the post

I published 52 Wordless Wednesday posts this year. Three of them were actually published on Thursday with a sneaky backdate to make them look like they were on time. Compiling them into one photo and writing captions was one of…

Happy 22nd birthday, blog!

a screenshot of this blog post being written in Wordpress

Twenty-two years ago today I used Blogger to add a blogging section to my website*. The first post was truly profound. When I exported from Blogger, multiple posts on one day came over alphabetically instead of chronologically so even though…

The Cookies of 2024

a red tray with four types of cookies on it: bars, butter 'spritz' cookies, white chocolate candy cane cookies, and peanut butter blossoms

I wrote a few weeks ago that I wasn’t feeling my usual urge to bake cookies this year. Since we didn’t have the cookie exchange at work (no office to bring cookies to) and we’re pretty much estranged from the…

Friday 5: Wrapped, part 4

friday, december 27

Happy Friday, which is National Fruitcake Day (I’m neutral, but I’ve never really had a homemade one. Maybe next year I’ll make one? and day two of what House Russell calls Sloth Week. It’s the week between Christmas and New…

IN THE DRUNK TANK

Back in the mid 00s I created a Pandora channel named “Younger Guys with Guitars Who Sing to Me About How Great I Am” and even though he’s calling me an old hag on junk (half of that is true)…

Friday 10: Wrapped parts 2 and 3

friday december 20

Happy Friday, which is National Sangria Day (red, please), and National Go Caroling Day. I WOULD DO THAT IN A HEARTBEAT. With a group of course. Not just me. How does one get to go caroling? It was also the…

Disney Opinions

spaceship earth, at WDW's Epcot

There was a little Disney meme floating around BlueSky a little while back about your Disney favorites. As a former member in good standing at rec.arts.disney.parks (before they got weird) here are mine with a bit more explanation than you…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)
