Wordless Wednesday: Week 35

a closeup shot of Murphy's face. His muzzle is white, the rest of him is black and adorable.

The Mug Life Chose Me #1: The Disneyland Hotel mug

a side by side image of both sides of a Disneyland hotel mug. On the right side the light blue mug says Disneyland Hotel Welcome to Happy; the other side has retro Mickey and Minnie heads. The handle is shaped as the D from Disneyland

I have a plethora of coffee mugs. Mugs make a fantastic and functional souvenir. But even the mugs that aren’t from a specific location remind me of where I was emotionally when I purchased them. Sadly, I don’t have enough…

Saturday coffee thoughts

the new cracker barrel peg game. the text says "leave only one, you're a genius, leave two, rocking the chair not the game, leave three or more, no need to be embarrassed try again"

Good afternoon! I’m still nursing my Café Bustelo Medium Roast from breakfast. Here’s a brain dump of small things not worthy of full blog posts. Most of these thoughts started elsewhere online, but it always feels nice to keep your…

Friday 5: An assuring hopeful kind of a sign

friday august 22

Happy Friday! Today is Folklore day, (folklore and evermore are my favorite TSwift albums), National Tooth Fairy Day (these days I prefer for all my teeth to stay in my mouth, thankyouverymuch), and sadly, my last Summer Friday off of…

Wordless Wednesday: Week 34

a "behind the scenes" shot of mugs being photographed. There is a yellow background propped up against my monitor stand and my mug that says "home" is in front of it. There are other mugs visible in the back as well as a light.

Abundance, by the book (of stamps)

an assortment of US postage stamps. There are Christmas, baby animal, and wildflower stamps for regular postage, international stamps, and a roll of postcard stamps

As a 1980s teenager I was part of a penpal ring. We’d send letters, stickers, and slam books. I had loads of stationery, construction paper, and return address labels purchased from the Current Catalog which amazingly still exists today! But…

Friday 5: Ladies and gentlemen put your hands together for…

“And now, straight from the Garden State, blogger ordinaire and undefeated champion of hammock lounging … Kiiiim Russellllllllllllllllllllll! (smattering of applause, someone in the back whistles) Thank you, thank you, thank you. (smiles graciously, gives a little wave) Happy Friday!…

Wordless Wednesday 2025: Week 33

it's a color-it-yourself puzzle made with nesting concentric circles that I colored in with various shades of blue alcohol ink markers.

What I read in the Spring/Summer of 2025

a screenshot of my phone's "shut up and read' 20minute timer.

I’ve finally managed to wrangle myself back into a reading habit. How? By setting a cheeky-20 minute timer every day and making myself read. I can do anything for 20 minutes, and if the alarm goes off and I feel…

Friday 5: In vino veritas

friday august 8

Happy Friday! Today is National Mochi Day (I really need to try this), Global Sleep Under the Stars Night (I’ve never been camping), and most importantly, a Summer Friday. It would be my second-to-last Summer Friday; however, I took next…

July 2025 cards: I crafted a watermelon?

completed cards - patterned paper, watermelon, and a raised "hello" sentiment

(With apologies to Dirty Dancing, I didn’t carry a watermelon…I crafted fourteen of them!) A little review for the new readers: my current craft is making greeting cards. I’m a member of MetaFilter’s Card Club, meaning not only do I…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
