Postcards To Voters: it’s not too late!

A stack of postcards ready to be sent to voters in PA. Kim's handwriting is not perfect, but still legible.

If you feel helpless amongst the (waves hands) stuff happening, you can move the needle in crucial battleground states by volunteering with Postcards to Voters. I’ve been writing with PTV since 2018 and while we don’t win ’em all, it’s…

Mary Oliver Devotions: Felicity, 2015

Mary Oliver Devotions, with a bookmark in it on top of a notebook. My purple fountain pen is next to it. The cover has a photo of a woman spoonfeeding a small bird.

Three years ago I purchased Devotions, a collection of poetry from Mary Oliver. I’m not a poetry person, but I always enjoyed Oliver’s takes on nature and humanity. I said, “I’m going to read one poem every morning.” Two years…

Seattle 2024

bouquets of arranged flowers

Last month WM and I traveled to see our Seattle friends for the first time since 2018. I was a little nervous about how we’d all function in person after only having internet/movie night contact for the past 5 years…

Sunday 5:Unfinished business

a monitor upon a plastic stand with a shelf. The keyboard is pushed beneath it

I did it: Minor washer repair

the well-known We Can Do It poster featuring Rosie the Riveter

The Kenmore washing machine that came with our House on Literary Lane is from 1997. It’s a very simple but functional top-loading beast with no bells or whistles. Early last week I noticed that the top portion of the agitator…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)
