Still happening

On Tuesday night in yoga class our instructor read this passage:

“I am grateful, not for everything that has happened, but that I am still happening.“

the positive state of being grateful; an overwhelming feeling of appreciation and thankfulness, and the desire to return kindness to others.
yes, I took this STRAIGHT from Canva

I tried to look up that quote later and couldn’t find an author anywhere. The internet feels less and less helpful by the day. But whoever wrote it, it really landed with me as I zoned out in Savasana pose. This year has been a wild one — big ups, sizable downs. I’m not grateful for all of it AT ALL, but I’m grateful that I’m still here.

Downs: Work was difficult. Mom had some health things going on. WM had his ACL reconstruction surgery. The US government kept on its path of systemic destruction and xenophobia.

Ups: Lots of travel and new experiences! Health things are resolving! I’m feeling healthier and have returned to a regular yoga practice. We are still financially okay in an economy that … is not.

And I’m grateful for you, too. Thank you for taking time out of your busy days to read my tepid journaling and musings.

I hope your Thanksgiving is fantastic, no matter shape it takes.

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
