Wordless Wednesday 2024: Week 45

Kim, messy and optimistic, with her thumb up and an "I voted" sticker

Some words: Well, didn’t that fall apart quickly?

Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris, both wildly accomplished and capable women who ran two completely different campaigns, lost to Donald Trump. Joe Biden, an accomplished and capable and very old man, beat Donald Trump. I hope Hillary sleeps well tonight after eight years of having her campaign exhumed and autopsied and reburied over and over again and being blamed for everything under the sun and for being unlikable.

Turns out, she was just a woman. And we’re not ready for that yet.

At this rate, with two wildly accomplished and capable women candidates losing to a convicted felon/sex pest, I’m convinced that neither of the two major parties will run a woman for president again in my lifetime.

My thoughts are with the people of our country who will neither be safe, loved, or warm in a country that used to promise so much.

I’m going to sulk for a goodly long while, and then get ready to resist fascism once again.

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
