Thursday randomness

For my birthday, the always-lovely Kristen, Nephews A&B, and my brother who doesn’t read my blog and likely had nothing to do with choosing the gift gave me gifts to get me started on latte art, including a milk frother and stencils for the top of my coffee. My first go was a pumpkin which…eeeeeeeh. I need to have the foam come to just under the top of the mug for this to be better. I’ll try again tomorrow.

I think my frozen shoulder is thawing! It started acting strange at the end of April and I was losing range of motion all summer. Last week I discovered that I can touch the very bottom of my back right pocket, something I wasn’t able to do last month. I can’t raise my arm behind me any higher than that, meaning if there was something inside the pocket, I wouldn’t be able to retrieve it. This condition can last 12-18 months, and I’m hoping this tiny improvement means I’ll be better by April of next year instead of October of next year.

We are watching Only Murders in the Building Season 4 and I’m not enjoying it as much as I did in previous seasons. The cast is too large and the sets are sprawling and it makes it difficult to keep track of the plotlines and the murder. Murders? It’s too much. I know celebrities are clamoring to be on this show and they are all knocking it out of the park, but next season I hope they go back to just Oliver, Mabel, Charles, Detective Williams, and the residents of the Arconia. Maybe Loretta, but only because I ship Meryl Streep and Martin Short in the worst way.

Last night we started season 2 of Shrinking and it’s still a delight. I’m VERY GLAD they quit with Alice hitting on Sean because it was very very uncomfortable to watch. And I’m glad they kept Liz around. She’s probably not everyone’s cup of tea but I like seeing women around my age playing women around my age and not playing the middle-aged male lead’s mother. I love her wardrobe style and if I left the house more than 2x a week (not counting the grocery shopping trip) I’d be all over it. And as last year, the best supporting player on the cast is the casual wealth on display. Alice’s bedroom is larger than my grown-up-lady bedroom!

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
