Yeah yeah it’s Saturday, I’m trying to get back onto some sort of schedule but this week work kicked my butt and the last thing I wanted to do when I was finished work and studying for the CAE yesterday was spend another half hour on the computer.
I completed my Shame Task and took Molly back to the mechanic for a scan. There is a minor leak in the “evap system” and it’s drivable. I’ll take her back in in the middle of the month once WM starts getting paid again. I barely drive anyway.
This week’s Friday 5 theme is The Week That Was. And was it a week…
- What did you do too much of this week?
Work? Fret? - What did you not do enough of this week?
Drink water. Move around. While I’m still of the “my body is getting me through all of this and I’m not going to care about diet or exercise” mentality, I’m starting to feel the ill effects of not moving as much as I should. - What surprised you this week?
Our return-to-in-person-work was pushed back from November to (drum roll) January. I am in the throes of despair but hey at least Murphy will have company every day. Every. Day. Same as the day before. Me and the ol’ home office. Drinking my own coffee. Making my own lunch. Every day. By myself. Yup. Zoom calls forever. - What elated you this week?
I was able to give blood again. That made me really happy. - What happened this week that’ll lead to something good next week?
I got nothin’. Really. It’s been kind of a shitty week and I am just now unclenching from the tornado warnings on Wednesday. Not a watch, a “go hide” warning. Can I tell you that the only place I can hide from a tornado in this house is inside the coat closet? We don’t have a basement. Every wall has windows. We didn’t look for places to hide when we bought this house. You want to know why? Because we rarely, if ever, had tornadoes here in New Jersey. But this week, houses in a town 30 minutes away from me were torn up by a tornado that continued blowing north and almost reformed 3 miles away.
I LIVE IN THIS TOWN! I SHOP AT THIS SHOPPING CENTER!
We are not supposed to have tornadoes here. This is all wrong. It’s all wrong and I am so stunned from everything that I’m staring at abortion laws going down in Texas and hurricane devastation in Louisiana and fires in California and the pandemic that is still raging and has killed more people in this country than the population of Las Vegas and I am overwhelmed and paralyzed.
Happy Labor Day Weekend?

I’m so glad you liked it. It was wild, wasn’t it?

I’m with you on the effects of not moving around. It’s been especially bad these past couple of weeks: I feel terrible so I don’t work as well. Not working as well means spending more time working, which steals time from everything else, including moving around. Ugh.

This is the first year I resolved NOT to worry about diet/exercise and this is probably the first year I’ll end up doing it.
