Currently (suspicious Sunday edition)

Has anyone noticed that reCAPTCHA now shows home address numbers? It used to be squiggly passages from books and that was the original goal — to digitize books. Now Google is getting us to help with Street View and it’s just a bit creepy.

Jeez. Can this be any more evil?

Polished: This week is Essie Bikini So Teeny. It’s a lovely light blue with a beachy name. I cannot wait until beach season.

Watching: NOT SLEEPY HOLLOW. I had the whole season on DVR, waiting devour it all at once and then I read that … SOMEONE DIED and I am not pleased so FWOOM! It’s deleted. I’ll always have Season One and it’s amazing magic.

Max: Still alive. He puked yesterday after breakfast and I was a little nervous, but he bounced back.

Searching: For a new hair salon. AGAIN. And when I find it, I will bring the same picture of Drew Barrymore that I bring to every salon, and then get my hopes dashed. AGAIN.

Focusing: From time to time I get niggling little doubts that I am in over my head at TNP. I’m not. I know I’m not. I know exactly what I’m doing, and if there is something I don’t know how to do I make it a point to learn. This week (tomorrow especially) I have to double-down and knock some tasks off of my list.

Losing: 22.5 lbs and counting. That half-pound was hard won this week.

Reading: I FINALLY finished Hamilton, then devoured Caitlin Moran’s How to be a Woman, and now I’ve moved on to N.K. Jemisin’s The Kingdom of Gods. That’s the third book in her Inheritance Trilogy, and I slurp her writing up like chicken noodle soup.

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)
