Greetings from the Amtrak Northeast Regional train line!
Today TNP sent a coworker and me to Alexandria, VA to meet with a consulting company. And unlike the Courier-Post, TNP paid for train tickets so we wouldn’t have to drive. Yup…every time we made a trip to Corporate, we had to drive. [redacted until I get my Gannett pension payout info]
I didn’t see much of DC or Alexandria except through Metro windows. Alexandria looked positively charming, though, and I think I’d want to spend a day poking around.
We just arrived in Baltimore and the punk of the trip award goes to the woman in the red plaid shirt hogging the 4-seat end row and saying that someone is sitting next to her with a bad leg and needs the 2 seats next to her to stretch out. Ok, fine. But her bags were piled in the seat in front of her and she just refused that seat to at least 5 separate people before she allowed a Blonde woman to take it. I haven’t seen the mythical “bad leg” person yet this trip and I’ve been on this train for an hour.
Punk.
