Wipeout

It’s been raining for days. Water is seeping into our basement (WTF?) and the ground is all muddy. Which is good for the various growing things we’ve been working on. But notsogood for me, as the weather kept me away from the beach today (69 degrees and cloudy at Ocean City today) and that’s kind of a bummer.

Tonight BvP and I are going to one of his coworker’s house for dinner with him and his family. The usual worries apply: Will I make a grand fool of myself? To counteract that fear, will I just clam up entirely and look shy and antisocial? (That happens, Internet…fast fingers on a blog != fast lips in a crowd).

We’re responsible for dessert. Dessert for 6. Instinct 1 is to go to the bakery. Instinct 2 is to suck it up and bake it myself. Instinct 3 is to go back to instinct 1. Instinct 4 is to dye my hair.
Don’t know what that’ll do for dessert, but seeing as my ‘natural’ color faded away, I think I’m stuck with dark blonde for the rest of my life.

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)
