100 hours song

As previously mentioned, the song I made up for BvP when he worked his 111 hour in 10 days stint. (the extra hour was due to the clock falling back)

(to the approximate tune of the Proclaimers’ “500 miles”)

When I wake up
There is noone next to me
Because the one who’s next to me is off at work.

When I go to sleep
There’s noone sleeping next to me
Because the one who sleeps with me is off at work.

When I go to work
There is noone to kiss me
Because the one who kisses me is off at work.

When I come home
There is noone to greet me
Because the husband who greets me is off at work.

And HE’s gonna work one hundred hours
and HE’s gonna work eleven more
And HE’s gonna Be one TIRed spouse
when HE fin’ly stumbles THROUGH that door

Ba Da Ba Daaa! (ba da ba daaa!)
Ba Da Ba Daaa! (ba da ba daaa!)
Bada Da bada Da bada Da bada Da ba Da!

He was not amused.

(NaNo note: I only have 2,000 words in. I should have about 14,000 by now. Either I need to quit or the next 2 weeks are going to be horrible. Last year was so much easier.)

I love song parodies – you did good with that one.

Hey, I saw your exerpt on the NaNoWriMo site – it sounds great and there are so many directions you can take it. Plus you are an outstanding writer. Go for it!

    *g*
    …heard that…
I’ve been averaging about 667 words/day… what is it you should average? …like 1667? Or something. (although I’ve not really been trying either)

NOBODY in my household has the patience to allow me to sit & just *write* like they seemed to last year. This year my November seems to be filled with Constant Streaming Interruptions…
(of course I think that at some point last year I really did get into the “this is a bunch of crap but I just need words, words & more words! 🙂 I *think* that I’m *thinking* too hard about what I’m writing this year (although what I’m writing this year is…
    much more FUN! 🙂

    Keep at it!!

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
