Good and Meh 2024: Week 8

Meme, with a medieval looking woman. Text says "Everyone is fighting a battle you don't know about. Except for me. I am complaining loudly about my battle. Everybody knows about it."

Good Things: Mom’s birthday dinner, Murphy’s gastro issue seems to be resolving (or under control due to meds, we’ll find out when the meds run out), an uneventful trip to the office, dinner with my Aunt & Cousin, noticeably later…

Good and Meh 2024: Week 7

Kim in a pink robe at her Mammogram exhibiting a very MEH attitude

Meh Things: I could NOT make it to the gym this week after all of last week’s fanfare. There was snow, Murphy was pukey, there was more snow. I had a mammogram and ultrasound (always stressy) and started PT (ouch)….

Good and Meh 2024: Week 6

a preliminary garden grid drawn on notebook paper, with a pencil and ruler next to it

Good Things: BAYBEEEE. I went back to the gym for the first time in over a year. I went before work, meaning I woke up early and left the house! And I went back two more times! Can you believe…

a very old cardboard box

Good Things: We are moving our stored items from well-used and torn cardboard boxes to hard plastic storage tubs in preparation for reorganizing the garage in spring. I finished the 30 days of Yoga program and my low-spend January. I…

murphy with a headset and glasses on

It’s Monday and I am writing this while watching the NJ Devils play an afternoon game at Boston. Devils are losing but they have so many injured players right now that it’s a miracle they’re staying competitive. I’m supposed to…

my desk with my laptop, monitor, and crafting supplies on it. I have a tripod with ring light and a spot for my phone

Monday, Monday. I have today off and my calendar is filled with here-and-there things. Donate books at the library, swing by the post office, pick up heartworm and flea/tick preventative at the vet. (For the dog.) But how was last…

Good and Meh 2023: Week 50

Santa on an old firetruck.

Good Things: Wednesday: Our monthly day in the office. I organize a yearly cookie exchange at TNP that went really well and netted us a bunch of scrumptious cookies. Had a drink at a bar I’ve never been to before,…

Good and Meh 2023 Wk 47

beer kegs stacked in a pyramid with lights around them to resemble a Christmas tree

Good Things: Tuesday: Our HVAC guy, who I’ve known my entire life, came by for our scheduled furnace check/tuneup/cleaning. I always feel very accomplished when I schedule a service and thankful I had money to do it. When you don’t…

Good and Meh: Week 34

Hey, not every blog post is a substack-quality work of art, okay? Good things: Monday: I went to the Phillies game with Mom & John and they won 10-4. Not only did they win, but we saw Bryce Harper hit…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)
