Thursday randomness

a very poorly done stencil of a jack o lantern on top of a coffee

For my birthday, the always-lovely Kristen, Nephews A&B, and my brother who doesn’t read my blog and likely had nothing to do with choosing the gift gave me gifts to get me started on latte art, including a milk frother…

Wordless Wednesday 2024: Week 42

Looking up at a giant jack-o-lantern on a ghoulish body. But he is not a jack-o-lantern. His name is Lewis.

I watch movies now!

a stock photo of movie theater popcorn downloaded from pexels

Remember when I didn’t watch movies? That isn’t the case anymore! Here are some more I watched over the summer. The Fall Guy: A lot of people loved this movie and I was looking forward to it because I was…

Friday 5: Crib

friday, october 11

Happy Friday, which is also National Coming Out Day (you are loved!) and National Sausage Pizza Day. I’m not really a fan of meat on pizza anymore. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll eat it and be happy, but I prefer…

Postcards To Voters: it’s not too late!

A stack of postcards ready to be sent to voters in PA. Kim's handwriting is not perfect, but still legible.

If you feel helpless amongst the (waves hands) stuff happening, you can move the needle in crucial battleground states by volunteering with Postcards to Voters. I’ve been writing with PTV since 2018 and while we don’t win ’em all, it’s…

Mary Oliver Devotions: Felicity, 2015

Mary Oliver Devotions, with a bookmark in it on top of a notebook. My purple fountain pen is next to it. The cover has a photo of a woman spoonfeeding a small bird.

Three years ago I purchased Devotions, a collection of poetry from Mary Oliver. I’m not a poetry person, but I always enjoyed Oliver’s takes on nature and humanity. I said, “I’m going to read one poem every morning.” Two years…

Happy Friday, which is also National Golf Lover Day (not me, I hate it!) and World Smile Day (earlier this year someone on Tiktok commented that I should fix my fucked-up teeth and that has stuck with me, but not…

Seattle 2024

bouquets of arranged flowers

Last month WM and I traveled to see our Seattle friends for the first time since 2018. I was a little nervous about how we’d all function in person after only having internet/movie night contact for the past 5 years…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
