Random thoughts on a Thursday

murphy, a black and white spaniel-ish dog

Rabbit rabbit! Happy February. It’s about time to start planning my garden! Last week was my 12th anniversary at TNP. Soon I’ll be there longer than I was at the CP, and that blows my mind because in 2012, I…

Good and Meh 2024: Week 4

my new craft corner, a few shelves with crafty tchotchkes above my beat up IKEA table and $10 chair

Good Things: It was a good week for a list-maker, because I crossed almost everything off of my list each day. Once the big thaw started to happen, Murphy and I were able to start taking good walks again. I…

Friday 5: On the right tracks

friday, january 26

Happy Friday, which is National Green Juice Day (no thanks), National Peanut Brittle Day (make your own!), and most importantly, my father’s birthday. Happy Birthday, Dad! I was in Philadelphia for work on Wednesday and after almost 4 years of…

Good and Meh 2024: Week 3

two shots of a little metal squirrel sculpture. In the first, the squirrel is halfway buried by snow. In the second, it's almost all buried.

Good Things: It was an icy, snowy week here. WM’s school district made all of the right calls with delayed openings and closings. On Saturday I accomplished a lot in what I used to call the craft room but now…

Friday 5: Random topic generator

friday, january 29

Happy Friday, which is National Popcorn Day. (That link is interesting – I’d have loved to see a horse drawn popcorn wagon!) But most importantly, it’s a bona fide snow day in South Jersey. WM was home from school and…

December and January cards

snowman cards surrounded by craft supplies

My December holiday cards this year featured a stamp set I bought a few years ago and didn’t use: It’s called Merry Beachy Christmas and features Santa in a tropical setting. I used blue and yellowish inks to “paint” the…

Good and Meh 2024: Week 2

murphy with a headset and glasses on

It’s Monday and I am writing this while watching the NJ Devils play an afternoon game at Boston. Devils are losing but they have so many injured players right now that it’s a miracle they’re staying competitive. I’m supposed to…

Friday 5: Stolen 5

friday january 12

Happy Friday, which is also National Pharmacist Day (hello, BvP!) and National Marzipan Day. It is also the day I received my driver’s license in 1990. And my friend Brian Z’s birthday. I just returned home from giving blood. One…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
