Friday 5 (on Saturday): Into the Groove

friday november 29

Happy Saturday! I could have cheesed it and pre-dated this post to appear as if I wrote it yesterday but nah. I’m holidaying it up this long weekend and I am tardy. Here’s the Friday 5, titled Into the Groove….

On letting the office go

kim's empty cubicle at TNP

I knew this date was coming, but as of November 22, TNP has vacated our office in Philadelphia. It was inevitable, really, because we never went back to the office (I’d have been fine with a 3/2 split) and rent…

Friday 5: And the world laughs with you

friday november 22

Happy Friday, which is also National Cranberry Relish Day. I don’t recognize that photo at all because my preferred cranberry side comes in a can and has ridges on the side of it. I’ve been absent for a while. I…

Wordless Wednesday 2024: Week 45

Some words: Well, didn’t that fall apart quickly? Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris, both wildly accomplished and capable women who ran two completely different campaigns, lost to Donald Trump. Joe Biden, an accomplished and capable and very old man, beat…

Election Day 2024: Nauseous optimism

political cartoon by Mike Luckovich of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. A line of women dressed like handmaids (red robes, white bonnets) approach an election booth. They leave in modern womens' clothing and the long their path lie the discarded robes and bonnets

Nauseous optimism is the phrase making its way around my blue side of the internet about today’s election. I was hopeful with only a tiny amount of dread in 2016, thinking there’s be NO WAY this country would vote for…

Friday 5: Look who decided to show up

Rabbit rabbit! Happy Friday, which is also National Cinnamon Day (I like) and National Calzone Day (I also like). It’s also the day after Halloween. We had fewer kids visit this year; about 57 total. In prior years we used…

If Adam Picked the Apple

an apple

A poem by Danielle Coffyn There would be a parade, a celebration, a holiday to commemorate the day he sought enlightenment. We would not speak of temptation by the devil, rather, we would laud Adam’s curiosity, his desire for adventure…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)
