Friday 5: Come go with me

Happy Friday! Today is National Siblings Day (happy siblings day, JD3), National Farm Animals Day (e-i-e-i-o), and National Erase Self Negativity Day, brought you by Pilot Pen.

friday april 10

This week was only a 3 day work week for me, which was great to get back into the groove of things post conference. Murphy is slowwwwwwwwwly improving. I have a call with the vet on Monday to chat about next steps. (deep breath)

This week’s Friday 5 theme is Come Go With Me. It’s a little tardy because I spent my evening watching the Artemis mission wrap up. I’m a curmudgeon who thinks there is no practical point to chasing moon dreams, but I wanted to make sure the astronauts returned home safely.

  1. What’s the perfect go-with for your favorite hot beverage?
My favorite hot beverage is coffee, and my favorite go-with is a madeleine cookie.
  2. What’s the perfect go-with for your favorite cold beverage?
My favorite cold beverage is a Diet Dr. Pepper, and the perfect go-with is Ruffles potato chips. I can’t explain why, but maybe it’s the sweetness and the saltiness.
  3. What’s the perfect go-with for a clear, sunny Saturday?
I am vibrating with excitement for a clear, sunny, SPRING Saturday. The go-with is a hammock and a book.
  4. What’s the perfect go-with for waiting in a long line?
Music and headphones. I can wait forever if I have some tunes. What can I say, I was a Walkman kid.
  5. What’s the perfect go-with for seeing a fantastic stage play?
    An equally enthusiastic theater buddy.

Even though Expose’s “Come Go With Me” is from my era the first song that comes to mind when I hear “Come Go With Me” is from the Del-Vikings.

Big weekend ahead: I’ll start my tomato and pepper seeds (late, I know) and get my hammock frame set up for next week’s incoming warm weather!

Previous Post Wordless Wednesday 2026: Week 14

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
