Revisiting my 2025 Vision Board

a image of a bunch of photos pinned to a corkboard, in the middle is Vision Board 2025

Back in January, I succumbed to the woo that is vision boarding and … it mostly worked? Here’s a look at what happened and what didn’t.

Photos of a new shower, an organized garage, and a bedroom with warm accents: Let’s lead off with what didn’t happen. I didn’t do anything major with the house other than having our large tree removed in February. This vision will be slightly revised for next year.

Photo of a woman on the sofa reading: Last year I read 21 books, this year I read 26, most of them in the second half of the year. Great!

Graphic of a family with a stethoscope winding around it, photo of a woman about to lift a barbell: This was my health and wellness vision. The family was dinged up quite a bit, but I lost some weight and became stronger, which I’ll absolutely take.

Photos of legs on a beach, an airplane in the sky, with boarding passes tucked beneath them: I traveled a lot last year and I loved it so much. Disneyland, Clearwater, Las Vegas, and of course our November cruise.

A photo of a couple holding hands, cut out into a heart shape: WM and I are still together and still strong.

A photo of a concert stage with tickets tucked beneath it: I did it! I saw Phish in Philly with some phriends! I really missed live music.

A photo of a watercolor paint palette: I hit the watercolors often this year. It was an overall very creative year and I ate it up.

A laptop with a screenshot of this site and a graph behind it that’s trending positive: I put more time into this site than ever last year, including adding some analytics. Here are my 2025 stats.

(image of a bar chart trending slightly upward, with some giant spikes)

I’m not setting the world on fire, but if you take out the obvious bot-scraping traffic from October and November, there is daily growth.

A bar chart trending upward, next to a photo of a small blackboard that says “Great Job!” and a gold star: I wanted to excel in my job this year and receive positive feedback. This could be a lesson in, “be very careful how you phrase things.” This happened, but not in a way I would have wanted.

A computer monitor with HI on it: No new computer for me last year. Microsoft extended Windows 10 service for an additional year, and I happily kicked the “new PC” an further down the road.

All in all, the year turned out pretty much as I envisioned in January minus the family health issues. Would I have done this all without the vision board? Possibly. But I did refer back to it throughout the year and made adjustments and decisions accordingly.

So I’m repeating this woo experiment and am putting final touches on my 2026 vision board which I’ll share with you soon.

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
