Behold: we have officially entered festive mug season!
The Wanamaker Light Show is one of Philadelphia’s most enduring holiday traditions. I’ve seen the show more times than I can count, stretching all the way back to childhood. This show has survived three department store shakeups and I’m relieved it’s continuing this year. It’s very low-tech and pure magic.
The delicate illustration on this mug (purchased at Occasionette) captures that nostalgia perfectly. Every time I use her, she brings a tiny slice of Center City Christmas right to my Suburban New Jersey desk.
