Friday 5: Crib

Happy Friday, which is also National Coming Out Day (you are loved!) and National Sausage Pizza Day. I’m not really a fan of meat on pizza anymore. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll eat it and be happy, but I prefer vegetables. A pizza with meat that I do is Hawaiian pizza. Yep, ham and pineapple. Bring it on. And Iron Hill Brewery has a Voodoo chicken pizza which is amazing, but even though it’s pizza shaped it’s barely pizza to me.

Jeebus, what a flipping mess these last two weeks have been. Last week had a lot of chaotic appointments and events that punched holes in any hope of my being able to concentrate on work. Right now there are landscapers on the street for the 5th consecutive day this week and it’s leafblowers the whole way down. Those are the weeks where working from home is for the birds. I need to start working from the library & other places again.

This week we finally had the hot water heater installed and I was clenched for days worrying about Hurricane Milton and my dad, Florida Man. He made it through okay but many didn’t. And my showers are once again steamy.

I started watching What We Do in the Shadows and quit a little into Season 2. I feel bad for Guillermo but he’s also a terrible person, I feel bad for Colin Robinson but he’s also a terrible person, and I really dislike Nandor, Nadja, and Lazlo. Archer was full of terrible people, but I still enjoyed that show. Maybe the animation makes it seem more fake. I’ll try Nobody Wants This next.

Let’s hit the Friday 5! This weeks’ theme is Crib!

  1. When did you last have fresh cut flowers in your home?
Good friends sent me a bouquet for my birthday in September.
  2. When did you last have a guest not related to you in your home?
I had a plumber in here on Tuesday to install the hot water heater. Slowly I am assembling a small army of professionals to get this house into shape.
  3. When did you last have a service or delivery person in your home?
Well, I guess I should have read ahead before answering!
  4. When did you last have nobody at all (including you) overnight in your home?
Believe it or not, October 2018.
  5. When did you last have an unexpected visitor at your front door?
I can’t even tell you, because my people are kind and polite and call first.

That’s it! Have a great weekend!

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
