My December holiday cards this year featured a stamp set I bought a few years ago and didn’t use: It’s called Merry Beachy Christmas and features Santa in a tropical setting.
I used blue and yellowish inks to “paint” the backgrounds and then stamped, colored, and cut out all of the little pieces to go on them. I gave some cards the traditional red/green colorway, but I think these stamps really lent themselves to more holiday-neutral colors as well.
Even though we haven’t had a snowy January in a while, I opted to go with a snowman theme for this month’s cards. I’m a little grumpy about the die set. I bought from eBay and while I thought I was buying from someone in the US getting rid of their craft stash (I searched for destash), it turned out to be a foreign eBay account using Amazon to dropship items out of a Miami warehouse. Win some, lose some.
Luckily, it was a very cute die set.
The snowmen were assembled from five pieces cut from 3 different color paper. Other than the snowman die set, everything else came from my stash. The backgrounds are from a winter themed paper pad, and the “hello friend” sentiment is from a spring stamp kit.
I signed up for a Valentine card swap, and I think I’m going to sign up for the February card swap as well. I already have ideas about how to create a card that would satisfy both swaps. If you follow me on Instagram, I usually “story” my cardmaking days.
The jewelry making supplies are calling to me again.
