Friday 5: Relish the Thought

Better late than never!

Yesterday was Friday, December first, also known as World Aids Day and Antarctica Day. (Right now Antarctica is experiencing Midnight Sun!) And it was also my brother’s birthday. Forty-four years ago yesterday my life changed, mostly for the better. I’m late with this post because we all went out to dinner last night to celebrate him.

Anyhoo, here is the Friday 5! This week’s theme is Relish the Thought. I am a fan of sweet relish and hot dog relish, but not so much dill relish. Let’s get to it!

friday december 1
  1. With whom have you recently had beef?
WM and I had Chipotle tonight. He had a steak burrito and I had carne asada tacos. C’mon, you didn’t think I was REALLY going to blog about my beef, did you?
  2. What might you never ketchup on?
Work. Now that the heaviest part of the pandemic is behind is, TNP is popping again. Times that were slow are now busy, and times that were busy are even busier. This is all good news for TNP, its members, and the good work they do. But it makes it difficult to not fall behind.
  3. Which of your tasks this week was especially well done?
On Thursday, Mom and I went to New York for the day on a bus trip. I spent a good amount of time in advance scoping out places to eat and the most efficient walking routes to take to see as much as we could with the limited amount of free time we had. And the trip was a success! I’ll post some photos next week. (Photos and photo editing are my least favorite parts of blogging.)
  4. When has a complete stranger gotten up in your grill? *
It’s been a long time, actually. I was at TNP’s conference in March and an unwell person made it into the convention center. I was at the registration desk and he began yelling at me about his head hurting and he needed a doctor. It was more sad than scary, and he just walked away.
  5. What’s the cheesiest thing you’ve recently enjoyed?
Hannah Waddingham: Home for Christmas on Apple TV. She has an amazing voice, but the rest of the show was pure old-school holiday variety show cheese. I’m excited to be back in cheesy holiday movie season.

That’s it for today, friends. Tomorrow I start making and freezing cookie dough and assembling my December cards.

Glad your trip went well and you both enjoyed yourselves.

Strange experience with the headache man.

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
