I’m not a competitive person when it comes to physical activity. I’ve always been clumsy and short of breath – team sports other than bowling were never my jam.
Think like a queen. A queen is not afraid to fail. Failure is another steppingstone to greatness.

However, I am VERY competitive when I know I can win. Trivia, board games, card games, competing against myself – I was raised to be a winner. You put 40 pieces in the puzzle? I will stay up all night until I place 41. You bought Boardwalk and Park Place? Fine. I’ll get the other two sides of the board and drive you into the ground. In elementary school I would doggedly work through the SRA box just to say I finished it.
Saturday night I noticed that my Apple Watch (version 3) was broken. The glass cracked around the entire face and only some internal wiring was holding it on. No idea how it happened.
One of the things Apple Watch does is monitor your calories burned, exercise, and how often you stand in a day. It’s good for someone like me, who can easily sit for 4 hours at a stretch. It also challenges you to push yourself each month. In August, it wanted me to close my exercise ring 29 days. August has 31 days.
Overpower. Overtake. Overcome.

Because the 3 is the least expensive model now, I was able to order one from Amazon that should be arriving today. And there I was, Sunday morning, day 23 with a broken watch. How could I risk losing my award? I would have to find a way.
Just call me Kerri Strug because I’m going to stick the landing no matter what.
WM: I told you, you can just enter your walks in via your phone.
Me: And lose my perfect week for stand and move AND my chance for perfect month? NEVER. I WILL HAVE PERFECT WEEKS.

I will search the world, I will face its harms
