What have you missed?

Summer was the best and then House Russell slammed into Sad Girl Autumn with the ferocity of a Super Dave stunt.

Yeah. Like that.

I’m going to start with good things..
> I had a birthday!
> WM and I went to see Hamilton in Philly and it was everything I’d hoped and more
> Mom and I went on a cruise to the Bahamas and it was amazing
> Nephews A and B are still the world’s greatest kids
> Ollie and Murphy continue to bring joy and destruction
> I still enjoy my job!

And now, the rest…

My mother-in-law had a health emergency (ugh)
> But recovered (yay!)
>>However has some more hurdles to go through (ugh)
>>>Including multiple surgeries (ugh)

WM’s school moved into a new building (yay!)
>Which is great because the high school population was split among 4 buildings (ugh)
>>But the moving was stressful (ugh)

kim, disturbed, staring straight into the camera with a goofy pink hat. she is cold.
And it’s cold.

My father had a health emergency (ugh)
> And had surgery (ugh!)
>>But claims to be fine (yay?)

I had a routine mammography (no big deal)
> And was called back for more scans (ugh)
>>And had a mammogram assisted breast biopsy of suspicious tissue (holy shit wtf?!)
>>>Which turned out to be benign! (ohthankgod yay!)
>>>>Yet, I am still mind-fucked by the whole thing. Still. (sad ugh)

Ollie had a cough (ugh)
> Which is resolving with meds (yay)
>>But he’s also a scabby mess because of seborrheic dermatitis (ew!)
>>>Which should calm down eventually (yay)
>>>>With frequent shampooing (ugh)

Our refrigerator died (Jesus wept)
>But the freezer still works (yay!)
>>And we had the money available to buy a new one (yay!)
>>> But man every time we get a savings account going something breaks (boo)
>>>>Literally, the money has been draining from our lives since the $900 car repair in August…

Harry-the-fish-who-Lived died (weep!)
>Along with every other goddam fish in his tank – like, within minutes of each other (WTF?)
>>Except one fish, who now has a grizzled war-vet look to him. He’s seen some shit. (okay?)

Alex Trebek is likely going to die soon. The country is a mess. And tonight, Molly the Jeep threw up a Check Engine light.

We are in a season of malaise. It feels like our household has a low-grade fever that isn’t going away.

Aren’t you glad I started blogging again?

Well thanks for my Friday Morning Coffee in take. At least your yays out number your ughs. Get a Betta for you fish tank and some snails they seem to live a long time. Home owning can really suck at times.
Are you going to blog and stream your Christmas Cookie Baking?
I will leave you with these words. Be Kind which you are- Smile- which you do and have a beautiful Smile – and Peace.

You are a sweetheart, thank you. 🙂 The tank is okay now. We have some more guppies and so far *knock on wood* they’re alive. I stopped naming them though.

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
