At any given time, to reduce stress (and HOO BOY THIS SUMMER) I pick one of these three: eating, drinking alcohol or biting my nails.
I’ll give you one guess as to which one I’ve been resorting to. One guess.
Reading: Leave Me by Gayle Foreman. A 44 year old mother of IVF twins has a heart attack because Life Is Hard and decides to run away because she’s unable to User Her Words. I’m not really a fan but I’m VERY behind on my Goodreads 2017 book challenge so I’m sticking with it. Let’s just say I hope she loses custody of the kids.
Losing: At Words with Friends. STILL.
Tearing: out the seven thousand invasive irises from the front lawn. They bloom for 2 weeks and for the other 50 they loom there, looking raggedy and blocking out the light. I hate them so I’m digging them out little by little, finding lots of ants and dead cicadas along the way. Homeownership is not only expensive, it’s a lot of work!
Enjoying: My 4-day weekend. Back to work on Tuesday.
