Because I slept half my day away…I’m awake way later than usual. I just watched “Say Anything…” via Comcast’s OnDemand service. The movie was free and I had never seen it before. I was super-psyched…I heard this was a cult favorite, and was poignant and romantic and all of that. And it was free!
There must be something wrong with me, because I found the whole thing to be darn depressing. His social awkwardness, her seemingly wasted youth, his sad broken-down single mom sister…and her dad (Martin Crane!!!) even went to jail. He was a crook?!??! He robbed old people!!! Jeebus. I was surprised that their airplane to England didn’t explode at the end of the movie. Then again, if I had seen it when I was 17…it may have had a better effect on me. Must not wait 18 years to see movies.
I watched “Singin’ in the Rain” last night, via Netflix. Parts of it were really cute. Other parts were tedious. I think I’m just not good at watching and appreciating movies.
Next up on my Netflix queue “Serenity.” That’ll be a big genre departure for me.
PS: Am drinking tea and eating crackers and keeping it all down. Yay me! Now if I could only get to sleep.
