Work: Our site, CourierPostOnline.com kicked ASS on this McGreevey stuff. You can see the section here. The newsroom did a LOT of stories on how we will be affected by this decision, plus ALL of the human-interest angles. I’m proud to be an employee of South Jersey’s Best Newspaper, The Courier-Post. And no, I am NOT being sarcastic.
Lunch: 6-inch Subway Veggie Delight sub, 1 bag of Wow! Chips and a diet Pepsi.
Afterwork snack: Handful of unsalted, dry roasted peanuts, glass of Crystal Light.
A date? Yes, Virginia, a date. Thor and I will be dining at Swanky Bubbles and then having fun at Dave & Busters. Why? Because we can. Exercise can wait ’til tomorrow morning.
This McGreevey Mess: I’ve never been a fan of McGreevey in the first place. But I don’t care that he’s gay. At all. I’m sure he and his wife had a nice deal in place. He gets the societally-acceptable family and therefore the political career. She gets a kid, and to be First Lady of NJ. (Lovely role, that is) Both have “interests” on the side.
And I don’t think he should resign because he’s gay. (Resign because of other issues coming soon? Yes.) But since he is resigning, I wish he’d get out of office within the next month so that we can actually elect his replacement. The “I’m staying until November 15th” ploy is so that the state doesn’t have to have a special election to replace him, and thereby be governed by someone we didn’t elect* for the next 14 months! And that sucks. I hope NJ citizens rise up and bitch until we get our election.
Did you hear about the NJ Governor’s position? It’s doggie-style! 😉
