I was searching my blog to see when I had my last Covid vaccine (October ’24 – I’m not lying when I say this is my diary) and stumbled upon this post from early August of last year.
Dear August ’24 Kim,
Your shoulder is back to 99% functionality and range of motion. You tried so hard to do it yourself but all you needed was a few steroid shots and a lot of time. It sucked but you got through it. And this week your shoulder was good enough for you to attend your first in-person yoga class in years. And you did well! Your shoulder was sore for a few days after, but you’ll get back to where you were. Maybe even better. Along the way, you lost 25 lbs and went back to the gym. You’re stronger now than you’ve been in years.
The election didn’t go how you wanted it to go (but it went how you secretly knew it would) and the world is tougher than it’s been in a long long time.
But you’re rekindling friendships and doing better at work and you’re good to yourself now. You craft again and paint again and blog regularly again.
You did it: you went all in.
PS: Your newsletter is fixed, too.
