The joy of personalized notepads

Happy Monday! I’m working from home today, something I’m still trying to get used to having to the luxury of doing. It seems lovely on the surface, but what happens is instead of taking a 10 minute break to refill my water, chat up a coworker or scavenge for a snack, I’ll take those 10 minutes and scrub out the sink or vacccccuuuummm (I can’t spell it, so may as well go down swinging) up some dog hair. Still, it’s nice to be working in elastic waist pants. 🙂

Another benefit is that I’ll get to break in my new notepads! I am a jotter. I am a scribbler. And I love notebooks and notepads. Not long ago, I ran out of paper in the notecube that was on my desk for years. Horrors!

I like Vistaprint because they will print just about anything you want. No proofreading, no fact-checking. Which is how I ended up with these lovelies:

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this. I am not your Queen!
This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this. I am not your Queen!

Dig the trendy monogram! I also ordered matching business cards in case I ever feel like blog networking again. I omitted “Queen of Sparta” because while I’m a touch wacky, that would be pushing it. My old cards* were lovely, but had the old-new-old last name. UGH ALL OF THESE NAMES.

(not a sponsored post, I suck, blah blah)

*Hm. On that post, I said I paid $30 for my font, and a few weeks ago I said it was $40. I think I’m inflating my story as the years go by.

You spent $30 on the old cards, too. Shouldn’t you be using THEM forever? 🙂

I’d feel weird handing them out with a different last name. Because I’d say “Hey, my last name is Russell now” and the recipient would reply “Congratulations! when did you get married?” And I’d say “*mumblemumbleTwoAndAHalfYearsAgomumble.*”

I know this to be true because I have Old Last Name on my work business cards.

I love personalized notepads. I’m a huge vistaprint fan.

A few years back, I got a notepad for WM that said “Hey, Douchebag” on it. They’ll print anything.

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
