I cannot wait to see the True Hollywood Story about TakeiCo. Operating from a dank warehouse without climate control outside of Los Angeles, a bunch of grad school graduates spend hours crafting the perfect 127 character* witty tweet. Another team is in charge of finding funny content on other sites and posting them to TakeiCo’s Facebook page. At the end of the month, Each team member is paid 50 cents per retweet, like, or share. CEO George Takei neither owns a smartphone and maintains a basic AOL dial-up account.
Oh myyyy!
Listen, I have no beef with Takei. He’s great. But I don’t follow him, because 3.2 million others do and everyone constantly retweets and shares everything he posts. I don’t follow him because I don’t have to.
*gotta leave room for the RT @GeorgeTakei!

PS: It’s mah 6 month anniversary today!

Guilty as charged. But it would be nice if Facebook could filter out repeat posts from “shared followers,” aka whenever your friends — most likely all of them — share Takei’s stuff since you (meaning me, in this case) already follow him.
And not just for him but in general.
