Thanksgiving 2003

Thankful

Happy Thanksgiving! What are you thankful for? Here’s my (not so short) list…

  • I am thankful to have a loving husband who tolerates (and maybe appreciates?) my eccentricities, and my loving family for giving me those eccentricities.
  • I am thankful to live in the United States of America. As a woman here, I am free to do pursue whatever dream I want. I married who I wanted, or I could have stayed single. I can work outside the home. I can wear clothing that’s brightly colored, any length, or that expresses opinions. I can speak freely. I am free to worship as I please. I can be educated as much or as little as I want. And I don’t risk execution for any of it!
  • I am thankful for my friends, who either keep me sane or contribute to my madness.
  • I am thankful for my pets. Misty for teaching me that being vocal gets you what you want. Charlie for teaching me the benefits of snuggling and naps. And Max for… For… For… Let me get back to you on that. 😉
  • I am thankful for my body. While I have yet to look like a Maxim girl, I am healthy and pain-free.
  • I am thankful for my job, which alllows me to do what I love and get paid. I’m also thankful to be given the opportunities that come with the job.
  • I am thankful that we have enough income that we do not want for anything. We had some scarily lean years early on.

Sentimental twit that I am, I snipped a Dear Abby column from the newspaper three years ago and put it on the fridge. It sums up my feelings on Thanksgiving.

May your bellies be full and your hearts be light today!

    Hello!

    About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

    Well, that happened.
