Little darling, the smiles returning to the faces...

January 18 2003 – evening

Can I *be* any more domestic? On the way back from picking up the ol’ Acne meds (sad sigh) I stopped at my Rag shop and bought some yarn and knitting needles (total: $7.06) so that I can discover how crappy I am at knitting. Goal: Knit a scarf for David.

Tonight Mom & I are going to Champps for dinner and then to Barnes&Noble for some literary indulgence. I wonder if they serve the Toffee Nut Mochas there?

January 18, 2003 – evening

Christmas is gone! Hooray! We bought a new vaccuum (sp?) cleaner at Target this morning. It’s pretty neat — it’s a Hoover and it has an indication light that is red when your carpet’s dirty and green when it’s clean. VERY helpful for us domestic inepts who can’t tell themselves. 🙂 And although I thought I’d have to vaccum (sp?) for at least 24 hours straight until I saw the green light, it didn’t take long at all.

Although there’s still much to do, I’m officially tired of domestic things. The living room’s coming along quite nicely. It’s the bedroom that’s scary. But now I’m drawn to my PC…perhaps I’ll play something for an hour. JUST an hour, mind you….

January 18, 2003 – morning

Wt: 141.6. Boo-yah!!!
Mood: Exhuberant
At home: Will get Christmas stored away (finally!) and tackle the bedroom. It’s a disaster.

This morning we went to the Starview Diner for breakfast (2 scrambled eggs, home fries, toast, milk) and then to the mall to get my glasses fixed. I picked up a travel brochure for Las Vegas. We may go there to celebrate our Sixth anniversary in April. 🙂

Last night I skipped dinner (wasn’t hungry, and munched on Doritos instead) and fell asleep on the chaise with Martha Stewart Living. There’s an article on learning how to knit. NOW I’m tempted…..
